Hello June!

ONE The Annual Quilter's Tea and show at the Blanchard Community Center will be held on June 25 at 1 PM. There will be finger foods, tea, coffee, ice tea, a speaker, share your quilts with everyone, and getting together with new and old friends. Also, we will have baskets to bid on and there will be goodie bags for everyone.

TWO The Fire Department’s Annual Summer Sizzler is taking place in Spirit Lake this year (it alternates between Blanchard and Spirit Lake) on June 25 at 11 AM. This is a really fun and popular event!

THREE Out of the Woods Family Theater is offering a summer production of fantastic fractured fairy tale fun for the whole family.  The second weekend of July, twenty six area kids and young adults will be presenting the comedy “Little Red Robin Hood” by Disney script writers Flip Kobler and Cindy Marcus. This cast is part of the Out of the Woods drama workshop that began in May and has already performed in the youth variety show, “You’ve Got Talent Kid”, a fund raiser for the Blanchard Summer Arts Camp. After the variety show they began rehearsals for “Little Red Robin Hood”, Directed by Dee Ann Boydston and Mark Miller.

Bring the family out to Blanchard and see what happens when your favorite fairy tale and nursery rhyme characters get scrambled (oops, sorry Humpty Dumpty) - mixed up together in a crazy tale of adventure, villains, unlikely heroes, swindlers, pigs and Grannies.

Show dates are July 8, 9, 10. Friday and Saturday the doors open at 6:30 and the show starts at 7:00. Sunday is a matinee and the doors open at 2:30 with the show starting at 3:00. Tickets are $5 for Adults, $3 for 17 and under, Family rates available. Performances are held at the Blanchard Community Center 685 Rusho Lane.

For more information visit  or contact Dee Ann Boydston at

“Little Red Robin Hood” is Produced by special arrangement with Pioneer Drama Service, Inc. Englewood, Colorado.
